Comment left by: Olaf Greve (ogreve@web-wizards.com) What I especially like about this picture is the composition. You made it look like someone else took this picture, rather than it being a self portrait.

Comment left by: B.B. Bean (bbbean@beancotton.com) I like the well-lit subject in front of a dark area. Nice contrast.

Comment left by: Matt BenDaniel (matt@exceloncorp.com) Ah, the fresh outdoors! Looks idyllic.
May I please come visit?
So nice to have a face for your helpful emails.

Comment left by: Ron Spolarich (caesar2@mediaone.net) This image conveys comfort, relaxation and the sun makes me feel sleepy. Somehow, I thought you lived in Scotland. I guess your name gave me that impression. Great self-portrait!

Comment left by: Joel Wilcox (jowilcox@blue.weeg.uiowa.edu) Agree with Olaf. Doesn't look like a photo by someone who wasn't looking forward to doing a self-portrait. ;-)

Comment left by: george (george@whitneygallery.com) Nicely done, Giles. You look like someone with whom having a cup of coffee would be fun.

Comment left by: Robert Ashdown, Australia (RobertA@qm.qld.gov.au) George, spot-on! I have actually had a cup of coffee with Giles at that very spot. During a brief visit to Ireland my wife and I visited Giles at his place in Connemara - it was a highlight of our trip. Giles, excellent self-portrait, always more fun taking photos than fixing fences I reckon.

Comment left by: Tim Chakravorty (suchismit@hotmail.com) What did you spot meter ? Certainly not your face it
seems. Think its over exposed a stop or so.

Comment left by: Tim Chakravorty (suchismit@hotmail.com) What did you spot meter ?

Comment left by: Tim Chakravorty (no e-mail specified) Please ignore my first comment. I dont know if its
possible for a photographer to spot meter his own face,
never tried that :)

Comment left by: Giles (no e-mail specified) I spot metered the grass

Dear Friend,

I introduce myself as Mr.Duncan Ferguson the Senior Portfolio Manager with Halifax Bank Plc Asset Management Team. A contracted staff of Perez and Hamilton was to contact you earlier concerning Mr. Herrmann Bottinger and an investment placed under our banks management 6 years ago. I would respectfully request that you keep the contents of this mail confidential and respect the integrity of the information you come by as a result of this mail. I contact you independently of our investigation and emphasis the reason of this communication. I would like to intimate you with certain facts that I believe would be of interest to you.

In 2003,the subject matter; Mr. Garycck Sunderland came to our bank to engage in business discussions with our private banking division. He informed us that he had a financial portfolio of Eight Million two hundred British Pounds Sterling Only), which he wished to have us turn over (invest) on his behalf. I was the officer assigned to his case; I made numerous suggestions in line with my duties as the de-facto global head of the Asset Management, especially given the volume of funds he wished to put into our bank. We met on numerous occasions prior to any investments being placed. I encouraged him to consider various growth funds with prime ratings, After that Mr.Garycck Sunderland made a numbered time (Fixed) Deposit for twelve calendar months, valued at £8,200,000.00 (Eight Million two hundred British Pounds Sterling Only) in my
branch.

Upon maturity, I sent a routine notification to his forwarding address but got no reply. After a month, we sent a reminder then finally we discovered from his contract employers, the British Mining Corporation that Mr. Garycck Sunderland died from an automobile accident. On further investigation, I found out that he died without making a WILL, and all attempts to trace his next of kin was fruitless.

I therefore made further investigation and discovered that Mr.Garycck Sunderland did not declare any kin or relations in all his official documents, including his Bank Deposit paperwork in my Bank. This sum of £8,200,000.00 is still sitting in my Bank and the interest is being rolled over with the principal sum at the end of each year. No one will ever come forward to claim it.

Consequently, my proposal is that I will like you to stand in as the next of kin to Garycck Sunderland by providing your full names and address and a bank account in any part of the world which you will provide will then facilitate the transfer of this money to you as the beneficiary/next of kin. The money will be paid into your account for us to share in the ratio of 60% for me and 40% for you.

There is no risk at all as all the paperwork for this transaction will have to be legally perfected.

Yours Sincerely
Duncan Ferguson
