Title: Let's see how this fisheye works.....
Gear used: OM-4 + Zuiko 16mm/f3.5 fisheye
Diaphragm: f16
Shutter speed: est. 1/80
Film used: Kodak E100VS
Technical information: Hand-held, obviously! Scanned on a HP Photosmart S20 scanner & sharpened. This film does not seem to scan nearly as well as Fuji Velvia! The spot metering capability of the OM-4 is extremely helpful with a lens like this, where sky elements can easily throw off center-weighted automatic exposures. The image has been cropped, so you aren't seeing quite everything the 16mm will give.
Subject information: I was just trying to get a feel for fisheye images, and the obligatory self-portrait was part of the experimentation. This is a late winter day in a small park in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA.

Both you and Matt BenDaniel very nicely show how the 16mm's perspective distortion can be used to your advantage.
I also like the way this is hand-held; I would guess that this is only really possible with something as wide as a fish eye, or the 18mm maybe.
Cool stuff!

I've got to try this concept some time. Setting exposure had to be tricky. Grabs attention because the fisheye gives it such an unusual perspective!

Interesting shot. Shows a lot of originality. May try this myself, if I can get my hands on a fisheye.

Comment left by: Maurice Barancik (MBarancik@aol.com) My daughter is on the board of the Lakeview Shelter for Homeless Men (Chicago). I use adobe photoshop as a hobby . My daughter asked if I would like to do a design for the Shelter's money raising effort. I'm retired and said I would give it a whirl. I found a homeless person you photographed that was on the web. It is not likely that they will find it useful (a black person may set a sterotype) I can send you an email of what I have done. If on the small chance the board uses it I will of course give you credit. What do you say?
