I too like the mirror effects and tonality of the water. Wish the lonely stalk on the right wasn't there, seems distracting.

The stalk on the right doesn't bother me. This shot is all about texture and a sense of place, and iot convesy both beautifully.

The subject's great, but I'm not sure about the 'shot of two halves' approach. I'd suggest just concentating on the reeds and cropping away the empty right hand side to leave a vertical composition consisting of the left-hand third.
