Piscatorial

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Scott Gomez
Title: Piscatorial
Gear used: OM-4T + 300/4.5 + L-Pol + Winder 2 + tripod.
Diaphragm: f5.6 or f8
Shutter speed: Auto
Film used: Kodak Select Chrome 100
Technical information: Much harder to execute than imagine and I'm still not satisfied. After three trips to try to get this on film, this is the best result within the shooting window. There are lots of problems of light and focus that aren't immediately apparent in the field to the naked eye, but that adversely affect results.
Subject information: Wild trout in Deep Creek.

Comment left by: Jay Maynard (jmaynard@conmicro.cx) Gorgeous clear water. The lens and polarizer all conspire against you to make this a lot more difficult that it would appear; in particular, I suspect the shutter speed isn't any faster than 1/125. Perhaps faster film would help improve apparent sharpness from the flowing water and moving fish.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) What, you couldn't get teh trout to look at the camera and smile?

This is very nice - I'm impressed wit teh detail and DOF in the water. Good work.

Comment left by: Goggles (jlr23@axe.humboldt.edu) I would think you would be able to make the trout smile and look at the camera...I sure he would of done it for 5 cents.
