Submitter's name: Ian Manners
Title: Western Australian BillaBong
Gear used: OM-4Ti + 35-80/2.8 + UV Filter + Hand Held
Diaphragm: f11
Shutter speed: 1/250 (Could be wrong :-)
Film used: Old Kodak Vericolor II 125 ASA I found in a box in Kalgoorlie.
Technical information: Shadow Spot meter from the right, change down 1/2 stop. Scanned in from a 10x8 print.
Subject information: Murchison River pool north of Meekatharra, Western Australia, it was a nice 28c degree day, this billabong looked calm and inviting. I was tempted to take the rubbish bag out of the picture put I find it is part of the picture in the way it draws the eye.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) I'd be interested in seeing this in black and white. The dark foreground might serve as a better frame.

Comment left by: Roger Wesson (roger@worldtraveller.f9.co.uk) Nice work. The billabong does look inviting, but based on what I know about Australia I expect it's infested with about a million things that can kill you! It's a shame that the right hand side is so dark, though if it's a scan from a print there might be more detail there on the original.

Comment left by: Slarty BartFast (no e-mail specified) After all the trouble I went to make the righthand side so dark ?
Seriously, yes there is more detail in the righthand side shadows but I guess its personal taste, I prefered it as it
serves to frame the water reflections better.

Comment left by: benson (benson@research.haifa.ac.il) I like the color. Maybe I should start buying out of date film...

Comment left by: Slarty Bartfast (no e-mail specified) Only one roll out of 2 came back ok, and even on this roll, the first half had some very washed out colors so this shot really is pot luck that it worked at all.I wouldnt advise using film several years out of date.
