Niagara Falls from the Canadian side

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Chuck Norcutt
Title: Niagara Falls from the Canadian side
Gear used: OM-2n + Kiron 28-70 f/4 @ 28mm.
Diaphragm: f8
Shutter speed: Probably 1/500
Film used: Fuji 100 Super HQ.
Technical information: This was scanned on my Acer Scanwit at 2700 dpi and then whittled down to make a 4x6 at 100 dpi before the JPEG conversion or 25MB down to 42KB.
Subject information: Oops! All of a sudden I realized that the TOPE 10 shooting period was over and I hadn't gone out to make a deliberate shoot of water. But I then realized that we'd recently been in Buffalo and Niagara Falls and I'd taken some family and tourist shots of the falls. Hmmm. Plenty of water there. No tripod, no polarizer and not much to brag about but by good luck I did catch the tulips in full bloom. Most of the time I had to keep the camera under my jacket since there was a very strong wind blowing towards us and the spray mist was falling like a continuous light rain. There was so much mist in the air that everything beyond the railing was hazy.

Comment left by: Jay Maynard (jmaynard@conmicro.cx) As waterfalls go, Niagra is little...but people keep going to see it, and this picture shows why.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) No reason to apologize for this shot - it makes a fine shot and gives the feel of the spot. Nice flowers.

BTW, Jay - Niagra may be a small falls where you come from, but its pretty big by SEMO standards!
