Submitter's Name: Ian Nichols
Title: Splosh 2. Sorry about the lack of imagination there.
Equipment Used: OM-1, tripod, Tamron 90/2.5 macro, 20mm extension tube, SunPak auto 30SR, 10ml burette.
Film: Ilford HP5+, ISO 400 developed in ID-11
Exposure: F/8, flash set to 1/16 of full power.
Technical information: A 10ml burette was held in a clamp and used to provide a stream of water drops. The shutter was held open on "B" and the flash fired manually. The room was darkened, obviously. It was a hit-and miss approach, but I managed to get a few worthwhile shots from the roll.
Other Notes: I wanted to try this for the "flash" theme, but didn't quite get around to it within the shooting period, so the "Water" theme gave me a second chance. Apparently, you get a better "crown" effect with milk, though, which I might yet try later.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) No need to apologize. There's a reason people shoot lots of variations on this theme - its a great shot, very well done.

Comment left by: Roger Wesson (roger@worldtraveller.f9.co.uk) Excellent! I've been meaning to take a photo like this for ages. The timing is great on this one, and the depth of field is perfect. Very impressive.

Comment left by: Pachon (jcpachon@usa.net) Alway this picture are one of my fovorite poitn of view of the water teme. Well done .

Comment left by: Mark Marr-Lyon (no e-mail specified) Photos of milk splashes like the one made famous by Harold Edgerton are beautiful, but what I especially like about this one is that the motion of the droplets isn't frozen. Considering that you used a flash, those little droplets must be really moving! The blur and the lack of perfect symmetry give it a much more dynamic feel than the milk splash photos.

Comment left by: Chris Barker (imagopus@threeshoes.co.uk) Nice! I have always wanted to do this....

Comment left by: Donald MacDonald (donald.macdonald@care4free.net) I've always wanted to try this, too. Maybe now I will get off my butt and have a go. Really jealous of stuff like this. Kudos, chum.
