I was trying to get the look of a watercolor painting. The day was beautiful and the colors looked quite soft.

Comment left by: Alasdair Mackintosh (Alasdair.Mackintosh@ntlworld.com) Fascinating water effects from the 1 second exposure. The haze aroung the big wave is particularly effective.

I think that either the exposure, or more probably the scanning, might be slightly off? I loaded the image into the GIMP, and had a look at the level histogram - it's not evenly spread across the full range. (Not many dark values.) It's potentially a very good image indeed, and it might be worth a bit more work to try and get the best out of it.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) I like the mist, teh mirror-like sand, and the swell. Very nice. What's teh scale here? How tall is that rock?

Comment left by: photgrapher (no e-mail specified) The Rock is at least 20 feet high and at leat 25 feet off the beach . I am on the beach using a zoom, at about 65 I think.

Comment left by: benson (benson@research.haifa.ac.il) This reminds me of Homer's Odessey. OK, no need to ask why, creative shot, you succeeded re the watercolor.

Comment left by: Chris Barker (imagopus@threeshoes.co.uk) I bet that this would look good on a large print and framed.

Comment left by: Roy Talbot (rtalbot@laborready.com) Great shot. Looks like the water is coming up from under the sand. Also the mist looks like clouds with a mountain behind it. Very well done.
