Chapelco ski center.

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Fernando Bianchetti
Title: Chapelco ski center.
Gear used: OM-10 + 50/1.8.
Diaphragm: f16
Shutter speed: 1/250 (or so)
Film used: Kodak Royal Gold 100 ASA.
Technical information: Just point and shoot (while I was standing in my skies). It was scanned with my old Umax 640P so I had to correct a little bit the contrast and the colors to looks more like the real image.
Subject information: I was skiing in Chapelco (a ski center in San Martin de los Andes in the Patagonia Argentina), and I couldn't resist to take some shoots. There was a lot of snow everywhere and you can see the Lacar lake between the mountains. It was the only lens I had at the moment so I tried to include everything that was possible to reflect that incredibly view. These are the first shoots that I'm taking with my olympus, I hope the next shots to be better.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (bj@caverock.net.nz) At first glance I thought "Those trees must be Nothofagus - the southern beech; can't be beech in this forum !!".
Well, in Patagonia they would be exactly that.

Water in two of its forms, and a great scene as well.
You've made a start, so now it will be easy to continue.

Comment left by: Donald MacDonald (donald.macdonald@care4free.net) I wanna go there! Nice.

Comment left by: Mike Lazzari (no e-mail specified) This brings back memories of a pleasant stay at the Hotel HuaHum(sp??) at the head of Lago Lacar after crossing from Panguipulli. No snow then but the beeches were in full fall color.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) I'm terribly jealous. I haven't seen that mush snow in years.
