Family Outing on the Pond.

Submitter's name: Daryl Hurley
Title: Family Outing on the Pond.
Gear used: OM-2n, 300/4.5
Diaphragm: Not recorded
Shutter speed: Not Recorded
Film used: Velvia
Technical information: Me, technical?
Subject information: This was a desparation (frustration) shot, time was running out for the shooting period, I had spent 4 evenings sitting in a draw by a beaver pond waiting for my planned shot, but that sucker never came up for air, not even once, didn't even ripple the surface. On the way out for evening number 5 I saw the geese on their outing as I passed the pond, took a half dozen shots (didn't even bother to set up the tripod), walked back to the house and left a bunch of mosquitos hungry that night. The only thing that bothers me is I know that beaver is down there in the woods probably still laughing at me!

Many years ago I shot something very similar of a swan family, nice to see a very similar shot appearing in TOPE. :)

Comment left by: Mike Cormier (no e-mail specified) I think I took this same shot the other night and I DID see the beaver!!! lol Although by that time I was out of film... This wouldn't happen to be a park off Moodie Drive in Ottawa?

Comment left by: Tiziana (ciaghitiziana@seldati.net) I smile :) ....very nice story and nice family !!

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Nice shot. What are the three light spots in the water? Were you crouching in grass, or is that something under the surface?

Comment left by: Daryl Hurley (dhurley1@cox.net) Barry, the light spots are submerged plant life, some kind of underwater weed.
