Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Very nice perspective, subject and composition!

I wonder where the slight vignetting came from, did you use a filter (at f8 certainly it can't have been fall-off)?

Comment left by: Conrad Vogel (conrad@nidlink.com) I like it - Did you try to take any lying on the ground with the lens close to some of the cracks?

Comment left by: Benson (benson@research.haifa.ac.il) Finally - a water shot that reminds me of "home" (Israel). Could almost be the "great Jordan river". I tried to capture a few springs in the desert for the TOPE - but had trouble because there was just too much light. You seemed to be more successful. What time of the day did you take this picture?

Comment left by: The Photographer (aka Ralf Loi) (no e-mail specified) Thanks for the comments. Now some answers.
The 21 has a skylight filter (not the Olympus slim one), and this should cause the slight vignetting. This is more noticeable on the scan vs the original slide.
I have also a close photo of the cracks, but without water. Standing on the ground wouldn't have a good perspective (panorama too flat) - in fact the camera was more than 2 meters above the ground.
The photo was taken around 2/3 PM - not the best time, lot of light but not directly on the lens - the 50 ISO film is useful in this situation.

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) This is a nice shot that becomes a much nicer shot when you crop the top third of the frame (just at the top of the S curve, cropping out the lave and horizon). That draws the eye a little more to the poarched earth an the tiny trickle of water. Good work.
