After the rain

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Dan Mitchell
Title: After the rain
Gear used: OM-2S + 65-200/4
Diaphragm: f4
Shutter speed: 1/250 or so
Film used: Kodak Royal Gold 100
Technical information: Nothing special, just what it says. The depth-of-field looks almost fake here, but it's just the way it turned out.
Subject information: First camping trip of the year; it rained, then it stopped, and there were some drops of water left on the tarpaulin we'd set up to shelter under. This is one of them.

Comment left by: Ian Manners (no e-mail specified) The filter would ruin the simple bueaty of this shot.

Comment left by: Dave Dougherty (davdou@san.rr.com) Ah, very good Grasshopper :-). I love it! The essence of beautiful simplicity.

Comment left by: bbbean (BBBEAN@BEANCOTTON.COM) I like it fine sans filter. I might consider cropping and enlarging to reduce the bokeh, if the original is sharp enough.

Comment left by: Marc Lawrence (mlawrence@cfp.com.au) Well, first up, and as you suggest, this is the perfect photo for teaching learning photographers about depth-of-field (and even tilt lenses) :-) . Very simple, and thus very effective. I see it cropped to portrait format, containing the whole vertical dimension, but with the drop slightly to left of centre in the horizontal dimension (does this make sense?). That's just me unnecessarily nitpicking though.
