You need some painted screws for the right hand switch...
Interesting subject. Is there a bit of barrel distortion shown on the top and bottom?

Both sets of switches started out painted the same; the right switch gets used more.
Yes, this is a good example of barrel distortion on the 50mm/1.4 lens.
