Relaxing fence

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Moose
Title: Relaxing fence
Gear used: OM-PC + Zuiko 35-70 f3.5-4.5
Diaphragm: f11 or 16
Shutter speed: 1/60
Film used: Kodak Portra 160NC
Technical information: Pretty straightforward. Try to get enough DOF for the deep subject with a fast enough shutter speed for hand holding, then set focus to center of DOF.
Subject information: This walkway down to a house looks very inviting on nice days, shady and mysterious, like it might go someplace hidden and magical. I really like the alternating angles of the hand rails and the way the lower portions of the fence lean back, softening the rigid pattern.
Comments: I'm not often attracted to photographing buildings and didn't expect to have a TOPE 11 entry. I'd forgotten this shot I took on a walk around the neighborhood until I finally got around to finishing the roll.
