Submitter's name: Ibrahim Murtuza
Title: Rice Columns
Gear used: OM-1 + 50/1.8
Diaphragm: f16
Shutter speed: (Don't Remember)
Film used: Fujicolor Super HQ 200 ASA.
Subject information: My Friend and I decided that I needed some practice taking pictures. So why not Rice University. Very beatiful place. The architecture there was amazing. Felt like I was in a European town. So I just took some pics that seemed good to me. It was evening time so the sun was hitting the columns just right to give that nice shadow effect.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Nice view of this hallway, the image seems to be hanging a bit to the left, but otherwise a fine shot!

Comment left by: Ibrahim (no e-mail specified) I think I may have scanned it wrong, so I have the image not fully straight. Or it could have been my old tripod. I bought I new Bogen tripod, so now it should not cause that problem again.

Comment left by: siddiq (no e-mail specified) between the composition and lighting, it's quite a classic; the only thing that gives it away as a modern building is the fire alarm on the left wall in the same section as the first hanging lamp :)

Comment left by: bbbean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Nice shot - It may actually be two nice shots. Cropping the bottom half off still makes a nie shot.

Comment left by: siddiq (no e-mail specified) barry, interesting idea--cropping would lend it a more mysterious air (to my anyhow) at the expense of the shadows.

Comment left by: Bryan K (askme@nospam.com) Excellent work.

Comment left by: aih21 (no e-mail specified) really nice :)...reminds me of the arches in the mosque of cordoba..ie the coloring, shadows..etc...
really classic :)...but yeah the firealarm sorta takes a little away from the overall effect...
but all in all great work :)
