Subject information:	My Friend and I decided that I needed some practice taking pictures. So why not Rice University. Very beatiful place. The architecture there was amazing. Felt like I was in a European town. So I just took some pics that seemed good to me. It was evening time so the sun was hitting the columns just right to give that nice shadow effect.

I think I may have scanned it wrong, so I have the image not fully straight. Or it could have been my old tripod. I bought I new Bogen tripod, so now it should not cause that problem again.

between the composition and lighting, it's quite a classic; the only thing that gives it away as a modern building is the fire alarm on the left wall in the same section as the first hanging lamp :)

Nice shot - It may actually be two nice shots. Cropping the bottom half off still makes a nie shot.

barry, interesting idea--cropping would lend it a more mysterious air (to my anyhow) at the expense of the shadows.

really nice :)...reminds me of the arches in the mosque of cordoba..ie the coloring, shadows..etc... really classic :)...but yeah the firealarm sorta takes a little away from the overall effect... but all in all great work :)
