Submitter's name: Ian Skelly
Title: oldyoung'un
Gear used: OM4, 75-150 f4 zoom set near 150
Diaphragm: f4
Shutter speed: 1/125
Film used: Kodak slide, 200asa
Technical information: Taken on an overcast, very glary day around 2:00pm with the animal slightly back lit. I'd have liked a flash to throw a highlight into the eye and reduce contrast. Scanned on an LS4000 and modified in PhotoShop.
Subject information: This is quite a young ostrich, and I like the way it started life looking old, wrinkled and grey. It was about 7 foot tall and took exception to me and my camera, attacking shortly after I fired the shutter. Luckily there was a large fence between us.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Lovely close-up; a tad darkish, but nicely sharp, and well posed. :)

Comment left by: Chris Barker (imagopus@threeshoes.co.uk) Very brave! But I think that the result has been worth it.
