Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Another good choice of subject, the wrinkles and the expression on the face of the lady in the background fit the theme really well.

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor I like this picture. A little more depth of focus and some room at the top above the great aunt would make it better. But I still like this picture.

Comment left by: Walt Wayman (no e-mail specified) I didn't mean to be anonymous. The previous comment was mine. (Striking forehead with open hand.)

Comment left by: C.H.Ling (chling@accura.com.hk) Good objects and composition, just wondering if it will be better if the foreground object is in focus rather than the back one... may be not.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (bj@caverock.net.nz) Great composition, great subjects, marvellous tonal range and colours; and I am dead envious of the detail you have captured. Well done. Brian

Comment left by: Alasdair Mackintosh (Alasdair.Mackintosh@ntlworld.com) I think the focus is on the correct subject, but as a previous comment said, it would be nice if her hair wasn't cropped.

This is nit-picking, however. Overall, it's very effective, with the lighting nicely balanced on the main subject's face.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (no e-mail specified) I think the way the image is composed, with respect to the lady at the back, is very good. There is enough of her fine head of hair shown to provide balance and light, and to give an impressive display of canera/lens and scanner resolution.
But the other thing achieved by the apparent cropping of some of the top of her head, is to concentrate the attention of the viewer to her face which is full of all sorts of interest and raises many questions in the mind of the viewer.
Sometimes it is better to show only part of a subject. To do so can give the image a "feeling" that leaves the viewer thinking about it somewhat longer, and I think that is all to the good.
This photograph does that, in my opinion. Brian
