Title: Chair
Gear used: OM-2S + 65-200/4 at 65
Diaphragm: f4
Shutter speed: 1/60th
Film used: Ilford HP5+
Technical information: I'm amazed I managed to hand-hold it this steady. It took one heck of a lot of tweaking to get the image on screen to look anything like the one on paper -- b+w really makes it noticeable how much subtlety is lost at the dark end of things, much more so than colour, it seems.
Subject information: An abandoned chair on a sort of roof area, surrounded by assorted other junk. Meanwhile, the waterfall in the foreground continues to provide a scenic distraction. I liked the contrast between the dark of everything else and the light-coloured chair, so I took the shot; this would look a lot less interesting in colour because all the junk is, in real life, pretty colourful and distracting.

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) I find junk very intriguing - great chair.

Comment left by: Andy Radcliffe (AndyJRadcliffe@manx.net) A really "flaky" subject - I like this though, and what makes it work for me is that the shape of the waterfall sort of echoes the shape of the chair (or vice versa!)
The whole idea is just ever so slightly surreal.

Comment left by: Saso (no e-mail specified) This shot seems to be growing on me. It seems like a cool project to start, if you're looking to do a photo documentary. Have you tried to get a shot with different people sitting on the chair? ;-)
