Salty CD

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Mickey Trageser
Title: Salty CD
Gear used: OM-4T + 50/3.5 macro + Asanuma auto extension tubes (68mm) + tripod + cable release.
Diaphragm: f16
Shutter speed: Auto 1/4 or so
Film used: Ilford Pan F Plus with expert processing by the Schnozz
Technical information: Sunlight from right-rear, reflections from CD-R below.
Subject information: Kitchen counter staging and handy salt shaker combined to form an interesting image with unusually deep reflections on the CD surface. I like the tone in the salt crystals.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) This would have made a good entry for the "abstract" gallery. Very effective in B/W.

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) Great idea giving an eye catching result.

Comment left by: Chris (ftog@threeshoes.co.uk) Pretty smart idea. Amazingly shallow depth of field, even at f16.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) A real eye-catcher! I would have never thought to use a CD as a base, excellent image!

Comment left by: AG Schnozz (no e-mail specified) So THAT's what it is. I stared at those negs and prints and couldn't figure it out. I figured ice crystals, snow pellets or something.

Good scan.

Comment left by: Anonymous Visitor I scanned the print with a Microtek ScanMaker 4850. Unadjusted, unretouched. Looked just right compared to the print, which I really like.
