Gear used: OM2sp, 100/2.8, travelites, tripod
Aperture: f22
Shutter: 1/60
Film: Fuji Acros 100asa
Technical info: Developed in HC110, scanned on Epson2450 scanner
Subject info: This is my daughter's best friend...she was the first test subject for my new studio lights. I shot her on a black velvet backdrop, and her black hat was a bit of a challenge to keep separated and not have it blend in to the background.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Excellent portrait!

Unfortunately the monitor I have over here at work is really darkish, so for me the hat does blend in to the background after all, but I'm sure that this is not the case on the monitor I have at home. :)

Comment left by: Garry D. Lewis (erind@sbcglobal.net) I like the pose and the way you held the hat/background separation. I would've liked a higher lighting ratio for a bit more face/body shadow- but that is personal preference. Just, coincidentily, got through with a discussion on Arcos film on another list group.

Comment left by: Chris (ftog@threeshoes.co.uk) Nicely done. She looks like a teenager, interested in the world but ready to find it boring ;-)

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) Nice relaxed portrait. You did well controlling the contrast.

Comment left by: Alexandre Cavaco (no e-mail specified) Nice composition, girls is spontaneous, excellent contrast, studio lights worked well.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (bj@caverock.net.nz) I really like this shot. Impressive detail, especially in the knitwear. Excellent range of tones. The subject appears to be very involved in the process of being photographed; relaxed and interested which brings to the image a particular charm as a portrait.

Comment left by: Roy S. Talbot (roytalbot@hotmail.com) This is a very pleasing B&W photo. Could you tell us the position of the studio lights. Also is Acros a new film as I haven't been able to find it. I like my 100/2.8 and use it at family gatherings so people don't know I'm taking their picture.
