I like the way the branches are very dark, it is that that makes me give the feeling I described above.

Comment left by: Andy Radcliffe (AndyJRadcliffe@manx.net) Before I scrolled down to see the title, my first thought had been "what an inviting looking pathway"- your title is therefore completely apt!
I think it's the dappled light on the ground that really makes this work as well as it does- that and the sense that the viewer gets of wanting to explore further.

Comment left by: Gregg Iverson (no e-mail specified) My eyes were drawn down the trail into the background and then up to the backlit leaves. This is the kind of photo I enjoy seeing in B&W.

I agree the image signifies an invitation to wander down a meandering flower-lit, leafy trail, unknown delights around any corner. And this shot captures that.
Very well chosen subject. Brian

Comment left by: Moose (dreammoose@yahoo.com) Most people saw it as I did, inviting. It was originally in color and has never been B&W except in electronic form. Perhaps the B&W form can add a potentially scary look not present in the original. I've always thought it should be possible to get a full, subtle B&W tonal range from a color neg.

I'm glad I documented this spot that I like, because it has changed. The slope to the left is the bank to a stream. This is a fairly heavily used trail and they have put a fence along most of the stream to stop erosion from people climbing up and down it. Not nearly as photogenic now.

Comment left by: Chuck K (c_kausler@yahoo.com) Terrific lighting and balance. I could be any type of path but it envites exploration in any event. I find the light and shadow warm.
