Always Faithful

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Kyle Jeffery
Title: Always Faithful
Gear used: OM-2 + 85-250mm f5 + Winder 2
Aperture: f8
Shutter speed: Approx. 1/500
Film used: Fuji Neopan 400
Technical information: Image was cropped slightly to remove a portion of the woman standing near the Marine (still visible in upper-right). Of the several photos I took of the pair, this had the least background clutter (people).
Subject information: I saw this US Marine and his dog-in-training (Molly) at a local classic auto show. I saw this as a great opportunity to take some non-vehicle photos, and I ended up liking this photo more than those of the cars that day.

I once read a comic in a newspaper in which dogs were drawn resembling their owners a lot, I guess this picture could well have stood model for that! ;)

That said, I like the image, and I am in debt to the Corps.

Comment left by: Moose (dreammoose@yahoo.com) I would have titled it "Otto". Do you suppose the guy is a Sgt? Maybe he has a finny name?
Yeah, I know they aren't Marines, but.........
Fun Picture. I would probably have zipped up the contrast and sharpened a bit to give it more punch. but the tale is well told as it is.
