Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Jim L'Hommedieu Lama
Title: Sidewalks and Borderlines
Gear used: Olympus XA, which has a 35mm lens and captures a full-frame 24mm x 36mm image
Diaphragm: f/16 probably
Shutter speed: Aperture priority: ~1/100th
Film used: Fuji 100 ISO C-41
Technical information: Scanned on Minolta Scan Dual II with color correction in Photoshop.
Subject information: Years ago, I took an advanced Black & White course in college. One of the assignments was to make a collection of "damaged" images. I took off my glasses and walked around campus, making blurry but tightly composed frames with a plastic 6x6 called a "Diana". I've been shooting sidewalks ever since. In this one, the shadows come from a wrought-iron fence, built around 1900 A.D..

Comment left by: Lama (no e-mail specified) This photograph is brilliant in every way. This guy is clearly a master, on top of his game. I wouldn't change a thing. Right now I'm sobbing because this is so beautiful. :)

Comment left by: Walt (no e-mail specified) I'm a long way from sobbing over a picture of concrete, brick and shadow, but I do agree this is a great shot. Just shows that good photographs are taken by good photographers, not by fancy cameras.
