Transition #21

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Bill Barber
Title: Transition #21
Gear used: OM 2S, 180mm f2.5 Tamron SP, Gitzo Explorer tripod with a Kirk Ball Head.
Film used: Fuji Velvia
Subject information: Everything we see is in some state of transition. Some of these are more obvious than others. This was taken at an abandoned business. There is an old garage/office in a one story building, a couple of big cranes and several dump trucks. I made a number of photographs of the buildings, equipment, wild flowers and other artifacts from the business. This is a small portion of the side of a dump truck which had been painted a number of times and was now rusting away. I liked the colors, patterns and texture that resulted from its "transition".

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Wow, these colours are really intense, very nice!

Comment left by: Thomas Haegin (haegint@yahoo.com) Very nicely observed and beautifully executed picture!

The explanatory text is very helpful. IMHO, seeing it alone by itself without explanatory text, it would lack context for me.

I would love to see a mini series about this abandoned site: Overviews, then coming to the truck, and then this picture being the final detail shot :-)

Kind greetings,
Thomas
