Subject information: This copper dome once stood on the top of the hospital where our daughter, our firstborn, was born, so has a special signifigance to us. It somehow survived when the hospital was imploded for demolition. The implosion of the hospital was quite a site, and I somehow neglected photographing the event at the time. This dome rode out the explosions and crumble of the 6 storey building unscathed. Its survival was somewhat surprising to everyone, and it was decided to set it up on these pillars as a landmark and reminder of the old city hospital. This summer it was covered in plastic and canvas all summer for polishing and coating of the metal. It was uncovered for display again just a few days before the end of the shooting period for this event.
