Typical Paris

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Andreas Grunwald
Title: Typical Paris
Gear used: OM-4Ti + Tokina AT 28-85 mm
Diaphragm: unknown
Shutter speed: unknown
Film used: Fujichrome 100 ASA
Technical information: I decided to take some slides against the sun light with +2. As usual is the slide much better (more contrast, more detais to see, nicer color range etc.).
Subject information: We had a fine day at the Champs Elysees and almost no money left as students to take a drink. I have seen the Arc de Triomphe and the others had to wait another half an hour before I had some shots with my camera. Later on we made some pictures in the middle of the road from the Arc de Triomphe but unfortunately I could not find these slides in my collection.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Hmmmm, "typical Paris"?!?
I can't remeber having it seen like this...;)
A very daring shot with such extreme backlight.
Cool effect!

Comment left by: Brian Swale ( ... ) Very dramatic; ominous, perhaps threatening.
Dark shadows, red light with the sun nearly gone for the day, and the merest suggestion of many many heads in the dark.
These invoke the question "Why?" "What's the problem?"
The fact the the image appears to be not particularly sharp adds to the atmosphere.
Great shot.
