Submitter's name: Don Shedrick
Title: The Power of Water in Motion
Gear used: OM-1 +  Zuiko 50mm f1.8
Diaphragm: not recorded
Shutter speed: not recorded
Film used: Kodak Ektachrome E100G.
Technical information: Shot handheld using the OM-1 meter.  Scanned with Polaroid Sprint Scan 35 Plus and processed minimally with Adobe Photo Deluxe to touch up color and contrast and ArcSoft Photo Studio 2000 to resize.
Subject information:  This shows the power of water in motion.  As it raced through northern Delaware and south east Pennsylvania, Tropical Storm Henri wiped out much of the track and bridges for our local historic steam railway that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and had been in continuous operation for 130 years. The bridge shown was one of six historic wooden trestle bridges that were distroyed.  A historic covered bridge for cars was also destroyed.  Plans are under way for reconstruction, which will take about 2 years and 6 million dollars.

Comment left by: Mickey Trageser (no e-mail specified) As the image was loading I thought it might be a thrill ride. Then the caution tape appeared and I knew otherwise... This really tells the story of the lost track. Too bad about all the losses to the historic railway.

Comment left by: Chris (ftog at threeshoes.co.uk) Sad scene, but well put together.

Comment left by: Donald MacDonald (donald.macdonald@care4free.net) Somehow I don't think 'Caution' will be enough!

The state of the track, with that rollercoaster curve, leads the eye in its own motion. Nice work.

Comment left by: Jim Caldwell (jamesfc@gte.net) 'Caution' is a bit understated! Very nice image - really shows off the power of nature.
