AH YES, I knew him when he was a little shaver. }:^) I would've shot it a little more to the right, but that would've been me. I like how the plane is coming INTO the frame. I might have burned-in the bottom of the board to keep the highlight from taking you out of the frame.

Very nice! Great detail, even down to the grain of the board being planed. It might be worth experimenting with a vertical crop between your son's right arm and the hammer. The over-bright hammer handle is the only distracting element I noted.

At one stage I had in mind a similar shot that would have had to be a self-portrait. However, you have done it better than I would have. Illustrates the construction and use of the plane very well, and there's very nice detail and tonality. I like it. Brian.
