Stone Cutter

Submitter's name: Graham Battison
Title: Stone Cutter
Gear used: Om2n + Zuiko 21mm f2
Diaphragm: f8
Shutter speed: 1/250
Film used: Agfa Vista 200
Technical information: I was going to get in tight with the 21mm but the wind was blowing the sandstone dust all over the place so I stayed back and included all of the Stone Cutter.
Subject information: Many of the buildings hereabouts are made from the local sandstone. It can be scratched very easily and worked almost like wood but despite its' softness the buildings made from it routinely last for hundreds of years. Baffles me!

Comment left by: Garry Lewis (garrylewis747@ earthlink.net) Excellent composition. I like how you left plenty of room for the dust to blow into the right. I might have thought of backlighting the scene, but maybe there wasn't time or room to move.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (**) Well executed shot of an unusual craft in action. That dust would be murder on camera and lens !! Nice lighting. I guess that's the happy consequence of the bright overcast day outside. Brian.
