Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Walt Wayman
Title: The Green Door
Gear used: OM-4Ti + MD2 + 21/2 Zuiko, hood, no filter
Diaphragm: f/16
Shutter speed: Whatever the camera figured -- probably around 1/60
Film used: Fuji Provia 100F
Technical information: Hand held; averaged spot readings; scanned on an Epson Perfection 3200; tuned up a bit in Picture Window Pro 3.1.
Subject information: Some of the giant pipes in the gas system at the Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham, Alabama. Well worth a visit with a favorite OM and a Zuiko or two, particularly if one is a wide-angle. http://www.slossfurnaces.com/index_fs.html

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Lovely colours, especially the extremely hard and bright yellow and blue on the left hand side works out very nicely with the contrasting dark parts on the right hand side of the shot. Did you intentionally look for this sharp contrast in colours?

Comment left by: Garry Lewis (garrylewis747@earthlink.net) I love how the contrast and garish colors contribute to the posterization of the photo. I also like how the detailed yellow pipe hasn't taken away attention from
the bright yellow pipe- allowing your vision to travel back INTO the photo.
