Title: Start!
Gear used: OM-4Ti + zuiko 24mm f3.5 shift + uv filter
Diaphragm: f5.6
Shutter speed: approx. 5 seconds
Film used: Fuji Velvia 100
Technical information: Tripod, raining cats and dogs, cold wind and a beautifull setting. A nice hot tea after a busy day by my colleagues was very much appreciated.
Subject information: This is the old steel work of Arbed in Esch sur Alzette, Luxemburg. This is one big machine, surrounding you with all kind of tools and machines. We're standing close to furnace two, looking towards furnace one. The green is the old steel road, all trains have left to nowhere. The whole factory (once 4 furnaces, now two) used to be a mile long. The factory is out of use, and our office is doing the masterplan for redevelopment. There is an immense emotion in this installation. It still feels alive, creeking and eeping under the wind and rain. Colours are ranging from rust to green to black and intense yellows and reds.

Comment left by: Brian Swale (no e-mail specified) A great record of an enormous machine. Well done especially considering the circumstances of cold, rain and wind.
The perspective and wide angle make for an effective shot.
Brian.
