Shadows of the Fair

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Marc Simon
Title: Shadows of the Fair
Gear used: OM2n Vivitar 19-35 f/3.5
Diaphragm: F8
Shutter speed: Some seconds...
Film used: Fujicolor Superia 100
Technical information: Camera on a tripod for a "pause" in automatic
Subject information: There was a fair in my Town called "Namur en Mai" dedicated to what we call "les Arts de la rue", those people who play theater or made all sorts of funny things in the street. The city looks crazy for three days and this is a great time. My idea was to give some impression of this craziness with moving people only in the pictures like shadows. That's why I made this pose of some seconds.

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (wayne.harridge@compaq.com) I can't put my finger on why, but I really like the "feel" of this shot.

Comment left by: Barry Bean (bbbean@beancotton.com) Looks like ghosts to me - maybe from the Collierville graveyard shot?

Comment left by: Wiliam Wagenaar (wiliam2@wish.net) You got the effect you wanted in this shot. Will try it too.

Comment left by: Bobbie Bowden (yes@lightspeak.com) Very beautiful; reminds me of an impressionist painting. Really evocative, takes me right into the secene.

Comment left by: arthur (32koufax@excite.com) did you attend uw madison in 1976-77?
