Bridge to the 21st Century

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Gary Teller
Title: Bridge to the 21st Century
Gear used: Olympus XA
Diaphragm: Probably 5.6 or 8
Shutter speed: Not recorded
Film used: Kodak Gold 100
Technical information: Bright nearly cloudless afternoon, temperature in the mid 60's (F), facing Northerly. Point, compose and shoot. Change angle, repeat.
Subject information: My need to keep the photo kit SIMPLE on a recent two week driving trip was necessitated by the fact that my wife and I managed to take along more stuff than we'd ever taken before. I couldn't deal with the thought of trying to keep up with my camera bag as well. Plus, it was time to finally give last year's garage sale XA some use. This photo was one of several taken at the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. A SIMPLE camera taking a SIMPLE photo of symmetry and converging lines. Or is it? I hope to post the other photos on my web site soon.

Comment left by: Dean (dtyler@hbiamerica.com) Nice image. I like the perspective. Long live the XA!

Comment left by: Brian Swale (no e-mail specified) Great shot. I like pretty-well everything about this image. The perspective, the intrigue (where on earth are those cables disappearing to?), the light, reflections, and colours. And the very sharp resolution and very good DOF - just great. And just where is the bridge?

Comment left by: M G Flink (mgflink@cox.net) It may be a simple shot with a simple camera, but it is perfect in perspective. The muted colors and reflective light are outstanding.
