Mingus, Charlie.

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Fernando Gonzalez Gentile
Title: Mingus, Charlie.
Gear used: OM-2 + Zuiko 85~250/5 + T-32 + tripod + winder 2.
Diaphagm: f11
Shutter speed: 1/30 (OM-2 on Manual Mode).
Film used: Fuji Velvia 50 ASA.
Technical info: Zoomed at 250mm from a distance of 3 meters.
T-32 used to fill-in shadows and highlight dark zones like Mingus' nose. Fill-in was done closing a full stop from indicated measuring: meter indicated 1/30 @f8 and T-32 made a full dump @f11 setting.
Focused using a 1-8 screen.
I'm not happy with contrast and brightness, particullarly on the green fence hue, rendered by the Nikon CoolScan 4000ED as seen on this monitor. No PS adjustments were done. No point of comparison to the original Velvia.
Subject info: There's nothing as simple as to picture your dog and to capture his familiar gaze, isn't it?. It took me about one hour and at least 10 frames on a particularly hot January morning.
Both Mingus and me were about to lose our patience, but at last he understood this task was important for me.
Nice guy :^)

Comment left by: Gary Teller (no e-mail specified) Terrific shot. With that face, how could anyone not like dogs?
