Subject information: Deep in the recesses of the barns and cribs of a retired farmer many old wheeled relics can be found. Bailers that haven't seen hay in decades slowly losing parts to other implements. Fencing material, tools and other things that nobody from the city could ever identify litter the walls and corners. Buried under a pile of boards were two wagons. One used to gather hay, the other used to spread seed. Most of the tires were flat, a thick dust layer blanketed everything. The owner is now long-since retired. Time and technology march on leaving both farmer and farm to rest.

Comment left by: Gary Teller (no e-mail specified) Nice mood evoking a virtually bygone era. I particularly like the captured details, especially the grain and texture on the lumber in the foreground.

Comment left by: Andy Radcliffe (andyjradcliffe@manx.net) Lovely shot, with beautiful light quality.
Takes me back (a long time!) to growing up on my Father's farm - there always seemed to be hidden corners like this there too, always with plenty of dust and cobwebs.
So good, I can still recall the smell, everything.
Sentimental old fool that I am......

Comment left by: Chris Barker (no e-mail specified) Nice tones and well composed. It would have looked even better with Tri-X ...

Comment left by: The Photographer (no e-mail specified) Sorry, I can't figure out how to get film loaded into the E-1.

Comment left by: Duncan Paterson (no e-mail specified) A very powerful shot that speaks not only to the eyes but also the senses of smell and touch. The colours and lighting are beautiful and the detail visible in the various textures is incredible.

Comment left by: Wim Verheyen (no e-mail specified) Very beautiful. Very nice atmosphere. Even in this small web picture I feel a sense of 3D, what will a nice print do ...

Comment left by: Brian Swale (no e-mail specified) Very impressive detail and range of tones.

Choice of subject and its location are evocative of past times for me too. The viewpoint and perspective add to these feelings.
