Police patrol vehicle

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Piers Hemy
Title: Police patrol vehicle
Gear used: OM-3 + Tamron SP 35-105/2.8
Diaphragm: Not recorded
Shutter speed: See above!
Film used: Fuji Velvia 50
Subject information: This "officer of the law" was spotted at the Black Country Living Museum with his bicycle ready to spring into action.
Australian viewers may feel that I have managed to get a double entry here, with both the means of transportation AND hid vehicle, but the period is wrong - by the time this uniform was current, the sheep had all disappeared from this neighbourhood.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Over here nowadays this is still one of the modern day police vehicles. :)

Comment left by: Andy Radcliffe (andyjradcliffe@manx.net) Excellent - just look at all these things you just don't get on bikes nowadays....old type steel rims, "stirrup" brakes and (if you look closely at the front hub)those little leather straps (my Dad used to call them danglers!) that keep the hub clean as you ride.
I like the all black "stealth" finish - non of that flashy chrome, not even the bell!

Comment left by: Chris Barker (no e-mail specified) Well spotted and composed. He really looks grumpy!

Comment left by: Wayne Harridge (no e-mail specified) Good portrait and the bicycle helps the story.
