Nothing special -- self-timer at 2 seconds, camera sitting in the grass propped up on its strap to get the angle right. The most awkward part was getting the bikes to look the way I wanted in the final shot -- it took me three sessions to get it to come out okay. Weirdly, propping the bikes up never took that much work.

2001 Catamount URT frame, finished with various bits from the spares box, singlespeed 32:18

Well laid out. I like the diagonal of the white screen as a backdrop.

3 sessions and you're using digital ! Couldn't you just set it up and keep shooting until it was right.
Anyway the end result was worth it.

It took me three sessions because I'd be on my way to work, get the bikes out, line them up, take shots, then put the unlucky ones back in the garage, ride one to work, and check through the results there. The screen on the back of an E-1 is good enough for a lot of things, but it wasn't until I looked at the shots on a real monitor that I knew if I was happy or not and could work out what I wanted to try next time. If I'd just done it all on one solid afternoon it would probably have been easier, I'll admit.
