Natural illusion

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Fred van Rooijen
Title: Natural illusion
Gear used: Om4 + 21/3.5
Diaphragm: 5.6 ?
Shutter speed: ?
Film used: Fuji Superia 200 ASA
Technical information: While hiking I have most of the time the 21/3.5 as "standard" lens on my camera, the other lenses are in my backpack.
Subject information: When hiking I came across this pond with this curious reflection, the lightly overcast sky is reflected except where the shade of the tree is.

By the way the picture is rotated 180 degrees because of the very strange effect it gives. When you want to see the original picture save it to disk and rotate it 180 degrees.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Surreal. Nice effect by turning the picture upside-down.

Comment left by: Ollli (no e-mail specified) Ah! It took me a few minutes to understand how this was taken. It's a a beauty but I wished that there wasn't that bush on the left.

Comment left by: Andrew McPhee (macca@maccastuff.com) At first I thought this was taken in a non-outdoors setting and there was glass in front of the subject giving an 'ant farm' look to the root system. Well spotted, superb!

Comment left by: Richard Lovison (no e-mail specified) Very unusual, beautiful, unearthly colors... the image holds my attention meditatively.

Comment left by: Piers Hemy (no e-mail specified) Yes, surreal is quite the word - well seen

Comment left by: Boris (no e-mail specified) I am envious

Comment left by: Darin Rhein (d dot rhein at comcast dot net) Very interesting shot, and yes, it's a much better effect viewed this was as opposed to right side up.

Comment left by: Bernard Frangoulis (no e-mail specified) Very nice composition. Another good use of the 21/3.5 !

Comment left by: Duncan Paterson (no e-mail specified) Most unusual but works very well. Excellent shot, well spotted.
