Title: River Rocks
Gear used: Olympus C5050
Diaphragm: f/2.6
Shutter speed: 1/160
Film used: 512MB XD Card
Technical information: Focal length (35mm equivalent) was 101mm.
Subject information: I was in Bolivia for almost all the shooting period of this TOPE theme. This photo was taken near the village of Alpaca, a remote village in the Andes Mountains. To reach the town we had to drive a seasonal road which runs in a dry river bed. Rocks are moved aside by local people to make a sort of roadway, which makes thier village accessible by 4x4 vehicles for a few months of the year. These are some of the rocks in the river bed.

That's a beautiful rock!

Comment left by: Chuck Norcutt (chucknorcutt@comcast.net) The concentric rings look like petrified wood. Is it?

Comment left by: Scott Gomez (no e-mail specified) That's an incredible rock. Looks almost like a huge agate.

Comment left by: the photographer (no e-mail specified) I really don't know much about geology. It was just a pretty rock that did catch my attention, and the other colored rocks made a nice setting for it. There isn't much in the photo for scale, but I think the rock was about 5 or 6 feet long. I'm not sure if that helps any.
