He was sunning himself on one of the African Daisies on our deck. Here is the runner up shot which I also liked.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Very, very nice!
A bit more DOF would perhaps have been nice, but as you were already at f16 I don't know if a whole lot more could be gotten out of it.
A lovely shot though, and the same goes for the runner up.

Comment left by: Scott Gomez (no e-mail specified) Nature serves up the most wonderful colors and situations. Great job seeing and capturing this one.

Comment left by: Piers Hemy (no e-mail specified) Excellent work! I disagree with Olafo - sure, the DoF is limited, but there is enough there to show that you have the focus spot-on the frog's eye.

The runner-up was a very close second.

Comment left by: Chris Barker (no e-mail specified) Very nicely composed, and technically excellent in my view.

Comment left by: José Adolfo Segura (jafsc@sympatico.ca) Excellent Macro! A wonderful 'palette' of intense colours The frog's eye is gorgeous:)

Comment left by: Bernard Frangoulis (no e-mail specified) Very well done! 80mm + close-up lens... you were close! I know how quickly the little fellows can jump away if disturbed.

Comment left by: Fernando Gozalez Gentile (no e-mail specified) Well, what can I say that hasn't been said already !?
I have looked at this one quite a few times, always intending to write somethig but without finding the appropriate words, other that I had assumed it came from someone living or coming back from a trip from between the tropics... this frog with temperatures ~10ºC ? - no wonder he may be a patient fellow since at those temperatures I guess he must move a little slowly, but jumping away who knows why.
Congratulations, didn't expect anything less well accomplished from you, after the foxes :-)

Comment left by: Darin Rhein (no e-mail specified) Great work! I agree with Piers about the DOF. The runner up looks great too. I wish I could find one to sit still for me!

Comment left by: Duncan Paterson (no e-mail specified) Really excellent macro shot. I admire your patience - that can't have been easy.
