Subject information: This is a shot taken at Fort McKavett, an old calvery fort, here in Texas. Mother nature has been slowly taking over since the fort closed in 1883. It was opened in 1852 to protect settlers against indians, closed during the Civil War and reopened in 1868. It's out in the central part of West Texas, about 170 miles due east of Austin. More on the Fort here. The picture was taken from behind the old long barracks, looking up toward the parade field.
