Autumn colours

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Olaf Greve
Title: Autumn colours
Gear used: Olympus Camedia C2020Z, lens set to the 135mm equivalent in 35mm format
Aperture used: Somewhere around f4
Shutter speed used: around 1/125th or so, the shot was underexposed by about 2/3rd stop
Media used: Smart Media
Technical information: I underexposed the shot slightly in order to saturate the colours somewhat more.
Subject information: It was always going to be a tough task getting a good nature shot when living in the middle of a city, and when not having a lot of opportunities to travel and/or go to the countryside a lot for pictures. During one such moment, we went to a small nearby castle in Bad Bentheim (Germany) though, and on one of the walls there was this beautiful display of autumn colours. I tried several shots (some of which showed more of the castle walls, as well as some bracketed versions between neutral and 1 stop underexposure), and this close-up is the one I most like.

Comment left by: José Adolfo Segura (jafsc@sympatico.ca) Hola Olaf:) I revisited your shot and I find that more than colours what attract my regard is the texture, better, colours and texture does the 'photo' in this shot:)
