Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's Name: Francois Hughes
Title: Hips
Gear Used: OM PC , 50mm/1.4 SC
Diaphragm: Something like F2.8-F4
Shutter Speed: 1/250
Film Speed: Fujicolor 100
Technical Information: Camera inadvertently set to manual so exposure may have been off Scanned from 4"x6" print. Lightened and sharpened a little for web viewing.
Subject Information: I was photographing my wilderness sculpture for a school art project and saw the rosehips. They were a very brilliant red, so I took two different photographs. I liked the other photograph better but this one had the most interesting Bokeh. My dad is a member of the Olympus list and he suggested I submit this photograph for the Bokeh TOPE, since it was taken in the TOPE period.

Comment left by: Chip Stratton (cstrat@tulsa.com) Awesome bokeh! In fact, its so good that I think the image would be even better if NOTHING were in focus, if the image was pure bokeh.

Comment left by: Jay Maynard (jmaynard@conmicro.cx) Nice bokeh, indeed. I'd have taken about a half step to the left when shooting this, to put the hips in front of the darker part of the background and move the out-of-focus twigs toward the center of the picture...but that's a nit.
