Submitter's name: Barry Bean
Title: Old Bridge Detail
Gear used: OM-4Ti + Zuiko 50/1.4 (serial <1,000,000)
Diaphragm: f/2 or 2.8
Shutter speed: 1/60
Film used: E100SW
Technical information: Handheld shot in late afternoon, looking down.
Scanned on a Microtek 35t, sharpen filter used, as slide scanned slightly soft. The Ilfochrome of this is razor sharp, however.
Location: This bridge crosses a small drainage ditch just across the levee on the Arkansas side of the St. Francis River near Cardwell, MO. My lovely and talented wife and I spent an afternoon driving the levee, catching a few photos, and supporting my IRA investment in Budweiser. Hard to imagine a better way to spend an afternoon.

Comment left by: Jay Maynard (jmaynard@conmicro.cx) Nice, restful image, though I'd be hard pressed to say it was part of a bridge without the description. I can see sitting here and relaxing a while.

Comment left by: Giles (no e-mail specified) Nice texture and lighting. It is funny, when I first looked at it I didn't identify the water in the background. when I looked again after reading the description and looked at the background, I almost felt a touch of vertigo ;-)

Comment left by: Ian Nichols (i.a.nichols) This looks like another early entry for TOPE4, with all those straight lines.

Comment left by: Barry Bean (bbbean@beancotton.com) I'm surprised everyone didn't immediately recognize this as part of an old bridge. But then I am OFTEN surprised at how people will either be amazed at a photo I didn't think was much more than interesting or pass by shots I thought were masterpieces. This sort of feedback (TOPE & ADITL) is an ongoing education for me.
