Technical information:	Handheld. I shot several frames at various focal lengths with my litle Zuiko 75-150. Slight softness of this lens at f/4 nicely compensates the inherent contrast of Velvia. Evening, about 1 hour before sunset. Scanned with a Polaroid Sprintscan 35/LE.
Subject information:	Autumn evening in Lullwater Park on Emory University campus in Atlanta, GA. The calm, the reflection of the fiery yellow tree on the other side of the lake and the shape of the tree in the foreground gave a somehow "oriental" feel to the scenery.

The thumbnail looks upside down on the title page...and the picture itself has a restful quality to it.

Your own comparison describes it well - it has the look of an Asian painting, very serene and spare with delicate "brushstrokes".
