Late Spring

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's Name: Charles J. Geilfuss III
Title: Late Spring
Gear Used: OM-4Ti with Zuiko 35-105 zoom.
Diaphragm: f5.6
Shutter Speed: unrecorded (prob. around 1/250)
Film Used: Fuji Reala 100
Technical Information: Hand-held shot around 3:30 in the afternoon with fairly open aperture to limit DOF. Wish I'd had a longer lens on hand but had to make due with the 35-105 which is my favorite lens when I can carry only one lens...
Sorry, it doesn't scan well, at least not on my lousy scanner.
Subject Information: One of my favorite shots of my daughter. We had a very dry summer this year so the wild flowers have been blooming very late this year. We were returning from the beach on one of the local barrier islands when I spotted this field of flowers. I planted her in the field and fired away. Also admonished her not to move off the blanket as the field was also thick with burrs.

Comment left by: Jay Maynard (jmaynard@conmicro.cx) I'd like to see this one scanned on a good scanner. There seems to be a lot of potential here. What's that spot in the upper right?

Comment left by: Charlie Geilfuss (cgeilfuss@hotmail.com) Agreed, the scanner doesn't do it justice. I'm saving my pennies for a better one. About the dot: good question. It's on the original print and the negative. I think it may be a bokeh bumble bee.
