Facing You

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Fernando Gonzalez Gentile
Title: Facing You
Gear used: Olympus OM-2n on Auto mode, Zuiko 200mm / f = 1:4 @ f = 4, Winder 2, tripod.
Exposure: about 1/125 I guess.
Film: Fuji Velvia 50.
Comments: Yes, I cropped the frame.
It's rather unusual to find a bird like this at a central city park, the Parque Rodó in Montevideo.
He behaved as if not bothered by my presence despite he had perceived me moving slowly and silent, hidden behind the bronze Neptune statue at my right side, and an Eucaliptus at my left.
Chose this one out of several portraits I could make because of his head facing me, and because this was the closest I could get: about 5 meters.

Comment left by: Chris (no e-mail specified) Pretty interesting composition and well spotted.

Comment left by: wiliam (wiliam@orange.nl) Neat shot! Crisp sharpness on the bird and the blurry Nepyune allmost looks like a gorilla from the thumbnail.

Comment left by: Graeme Pow (no e-mail specified) For me this shot is all the more interesting because of the way you framed the bird using the statue of Neptune. I really like it.
