a piece of wood in the woods...

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Marc Simon
Title: a piece of wood in the woods...
Gear used: E510 Zuiko 300mm f4.5 (equ.600mm in 24x36)
Diaphragm: f/4.5
Shutter speed: 1/25
Film used: ISO speed 400
Technical information: Raw file "computed" in Lightroom
Subject information: I was in the woods, testing a E-510 when I saw this piece of wood, part of a fence... the light was low and unfortunately the Image Stabilization doesn't work with a "vanilla" Zuiko... and I had no tripod with me...so I've used another part of the fence as a tripod...but doing that I was limited for my framing, which explain the somewhat confusing background... I could have used some Photoshop Trick to eliminate it...but for a Tope, it's not fair, so it's here as shot.

Comment left by: Noël POLIS (no e-mail specified) Despite this confusing background, this is a nice "étude de matières" ! Great !

Comment left by: Brian Swale (no e-mail specified) I like this. It shows what can be made of even simple subjects if you keep your eyes and mind open to opportunity. Great detail and colours.
