Life, Head On?

Comments made by the photographer

Submitter's name: Bill Barber
Title: Life, Head On?
Gear used: Olympus XA
Film used: Fujicolor 200
Subject information: Walt was a little crusty, was never afraid to share his opinion and like most of us had a mishap or two along the road of life. Besides being a friend and asset to this group anda dang good photographer, he was also a"camera guy." Guess you might say he wasa SUV guy, a gun guy, an opinion guy . . . Walt, like each of us, had a flaw or two and none of them took away from his being an interesting fellow and a friend. Walt loved his Olympus cameras and his Zuiko lenses, however he didn't let that stand in the way of an affair or two with other brands. He loved using cameras irrespective of their origin. So when this "camera guy" recently got an OlympusXA, I knew this would be my weapon of choice in honoring Walt. Walt was never one to dodge an issue. When I saw this old wrecker along the road, I knew there was a Walt TOPE image hidden in there for me to discover. I think Walt might have enjoyed it.

Comment left by: Olaf Greve (no e-mail specified) Yes, this picture has Walt written all over it. I was already wondering how many vehicle shots there would be. :)

Comment left by: Jay Drew (no e-mail specified) It takes a little mileage to get character. The colors, the dents and the composition are wonderful. Great shot!

Comment left by: Chris (no e-mail specified) Excellent!

Comment left by: Joel Wilcox (no e-mail specified) I think Walt would really have liked this one.

Comment left by: Gary Teller (no e-mail specified) Yep, looks like something Walt would've driven into the woods before SUV's came along. Great shot and a reminder that I should take my own XA out for a walk or ride more often

Comment left by: Bill Barber (no e-mail specified) The old wrecker has disappeared. I'd planned to go back with my e-3 and 4X5. Missed moments . . . missed images.
