Comment left by: Wiliam (wiliam@orange.nl) This one is so much better than the one I took just before Christmas, when we had our only snow this winter, that I don't dare show mine.

Comment left by: Ian Nichols (ian.a.nichols@gmail.com) Nicely observed. I might have done something similar if only we'd had some snow.

Comment left by: Dan (no e-mail specified) It benefits a lot from full-size; as a thumbnail, the details in the snow vanish, but full-size it's very pretty.

Comment left by: Chris (no e-mail specified) Nicely composed, but I should have altered the levels a little ...

Comment left by: michael (michaelwnau@gmail.com) pretty.

Comment left by: siddiq (siddiq@ucr.edu) oh, to have a bit more highlight headroom....

Comment left by: Chuck Norcutt (no e-mail specified) No need for more highlight headroom. PS shadow/highlight control plus some LCE will liven it up considerably.

Comment left by: ndr (nicodaros@gmail.com) thanks to all of you ~ for tips and compliments alike, such a warm welcome :) i wish i were better versed in PS to play with it more, but i'll get there eventually. it was a lucky shot, only one day of snow, and this one also shows the colors of the flag, making the photo more meaningful than it appears at first glance.
